Priyanka Chopra comes out in support of ‘The White Tiger’ director Ramin Bahrani after he faces racism in the US – Times of India

Iranian-American director Ramin Bahrani of ‘The White Tiger fame’ was recently subjected to racial abuse in the US. Priyanka Chopra, who was also a part of the film, commented on the issue.

According to the report, a bystander passed racial comments on Bahrani when he was in an interview on the streets. The man reportedly said, ‘You all think you run the world. You all don’t run s—‘ The man also shouted at him to go back to his country as he drove away in his car.

Reacting to the same, Priyanka reportedly asks if America was not supposed to be a melting pot of all people from all backgrounds. She added that the US was built on the back of immigrants in search of the American dream, a life of freedom, opportunity, and a safe place not only for themselves but for their families.

Bahrani has been nominated in the Best Adapted Screenplay category at the 93rd Academy Awards for The White Tiger. The film is an adaptation of Aravind Adiga’s book of the same name.

Apart from this, he has films like ‘Man Push Cart’, ‘Chop Shop’, ‘Goodbye Solo’ and ‘Fahrenheit 451’ to his credit.

Priyanka, on the other hand, is yet to announce her next Bollywood film.
