CBSE board exam 2021: Mask breaks during boards practicals – Times of India

KOLKATA: Students of both CBSE Class XII and ISC have been requesting “mask breaks” during the ongoing board practical examinations. The external examiners, in consultation with the respective principals, are now allowing the students who are showing the signs of discomfort to take a couple of minutes to take masks off, wash their faces, sanitize and then get back to the exams.

School heads feel the situation is abnormal and students are making a lot of effort to come to the campus for practicals. Apart from the exam stress, they are nervous because most of their learning has happened virtually.

“We are allowing the students break from masks when they find it unbearable, but we are ensuring that there is no letting down of guard,” said Rupkatha Sarkar, principal of La Martiniere for Girls. “When we get 400 students every single day, how will we manage these mask breaks?” asked Meena Kak, director of Lakshmipat Singhania Academy.
