Akshay Kumar informed all on Sunday that he has tested positive for Covid-19. The actor has isolated himself and is in quarantine at home. Akshay was currently shooting for ‘Ram Setu’ in Madh Island and following his diagnosis, the shoot has been halted. A source revealed to ETimes, “The shoot of ‘Ram Setu’ was scheduled till April 9, however it has been halted. A massive set has been erected in Madh Island and it will remain redundant for some time now. The team of ‘Ram Setu’ was to then travel out of Mumbai for another schedule, but that will also have to be re-worked now.”

Jacqueline Fernandez and Nushrratt Bharuccha were shooting with Akshay for ‘Ram Setu’, which is directed by Abhishek Sharma. “Jacqueline , director Abhishek and creative producer Chandraprakash Dwivedi will also have to take the Covid-19 test as they were working closely with Akshay Kumar,” adds the source. ‘Ram Setu’ features Akshay in the role of an archaeologist.

In his statement earlier today, Akshay had urged that all those who may have come in contact with him should get themselves tested. “I wish to inform everyone that, earlier this morning, I have tested positive for COVID-19. Following all the protocols I have immediately isolated myself. I’m under home quarantine and have sought necessary medical care. I would sincerely request all those that have come in contact with me to get themselves tested and take care. Back in action very soon!” shared Akshay.
