Ajay Devgn’s ‘Maidaan’ director Amit Sharma had been diagnosed with COVID, earlier this month. Sharma had quarantined himself at home and was taking all the necessary precautions. Of course, it was not an easy period for him. Symptoms or no symptoms, the recent upsurge in COVID has made everybody scared.

ETimes has it that Sharma has now tested negative. With Boney Kapoor (producer of ‘Maidaan’), he will now set up the shoot to resume soon. However, Boney has set up most of the things as he has been working round the clock after Sharma fell ill. A source says, “Amit tested negative only recently. He is feeling very relieved and eagerly waiting to get back into the thick of things.”

Devgn plays the legendary football coach Syed Abdul Rahim in ‘Maidaan’. The film also stars Priyamani and Gajraj Rao in prominent roles. The film is expected to release on October 15, 2021, which sets up its big clash with Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’. Rajamouli did not listen to Devgn and talk with Boney before fixing the ‘RRR’ release date as October 15 despite the fact that Boney had locked the date much before him.

This morning, Ajay was in the news for the wrong reasons when speculations arose from a viral video that he had got into a brawl at Aerocity in Delhi. The actor has categorically clarified that it seems to be his doppelganger.

Post ‘Maidaan’, Sharma who earlier wielded the megaphone for Junglee Pictures‘Badhaai Ho’, will direct the remake of ‘The Intern’, starring Deepika Padukone.
