PRAYAGRAJ: The evaluation work of answer sheets of high school and intermediate board exams, conducted by the UP Secondary Education Board, was completed on Friday.
A total of 1,43,933 examiners were appointed to evaluate a total of 3.19 crore answer sheets. This included about 1.86 crore answer sheets of high schools for which 89,698 examiners were appointed and the appointment of 54,235 examiners for 1.33 crore answer sheets of intermediate.
The evaluation work commenced at all 258 evaluation centres across the state from March 18 onward. The evaluation work has been accomplished one day before the target date of April 1.
Throughout checking the answer sheets of classes 10 and 12, the Board officials, led by the Secretary, Dibyakant Shukla, monitored closely daily. For the first time, the evaluation work at all the 258 evaluation centres in the state has been completed before the set date. While in previous years, the evaluation work had to be done for a few days more even after the scheduled date.
For the first time this year, the training of examiners, deputy principal examiners, and their deputy controllers was conducted through an audio-video presentation at the regional office level, so that there could be an error-free evaluation of the answer sheets.
“Due to the timely training, the evaluation work could be completed ahead of time”, said Shukla.
With the aim of fair and timely evaluation at the evaluation centres, for the first time, one static magistrate was appointed at each evaluation centre and for the supervision of all the evaluation centres, located in each district, the principal of the DIET of each district was appointed as supervisor, informed the secretary.
Moreover, Section-144 was imposed in a radius of 100 meters around the evaluation centres for security arrangements, and deployment of at least four armed police guards and local intelligence unit/police personnel in plain uniform till the evaluation period.
The evaluation work was done compulsorily under the supervision of CCTV with a voice recorder. For proper monitoring of the evaluation, their continuous monitoring was done from the district state-level control, he added.
