SRINAGAR: Two hybrid terrorists involved in an attack on a YouTuber in south Kashmir’s Shopian district last week were arrested on Friday.
A police statement said a case had been registered under IPC and UAPA at Heerpora police station in connection with the attack on the YouTube journalist and an SIT was constituted to probe the incident.
Based on oral, circumstantial and technical evidence, several suspects were rounded up. During questioning, two of them — Suhaib Reyaz and Anayat Ullah Iqbal, both residents of Saidapora Payeen village in Shopian — admitted to their involvement in the attack, police said.
The duo is associated with the banned outfit, The Resistance Force.
On their disclosure, the weapon of offence, a pistol, along with its magazine and an IED, was recovered from an orchard in the village. Further investigation in the case is on.
